Severe storms moved through central Kansas during the midday hours of Sunday.
The storm system that began in west central Kansas moved across parts of Rice, Ellsworth, Saline, McPherson, Marion and Dickinson counties, with the largest hail reports coming from the Canton area where half-dollar sized hail was reported which covered the ground along with 70 mile an hour wind.
Quarter to ping pong ball sized hail was also reported in the Galva and New Gottland areas along with locations to the north and northwest of McPherson. Some hail was also reported on the north side of McPherson.
As the storms moved into Marion County up to golf ball-sized hail was reported in the Hillsboro and Lehigh areas. In Lehigh there was a report of a tree falling on a house.
Heavy rain also accompanied the storms. There was a sharp cutoff to the precipitation little to no precipitation in the Inman and Moundridge areas to just south of McPherson.
