McPherson High School had a busy sports day on Tuesday, April 21, with events held for Baseball, Softball, Girls Soccer, Girls Swimming, and Boys Tennis.

GIRLS SOCCER
McPherson Girls Soccer hosted Wichita Collegiate, defeating the Spartans 8-0. All goals were scored in one half, as Becca Lulloff, Addison Shaft, and Allison Randa scored two goals. Grace Prescott added a goal and two assists, while Lleyton Kuhn had one goal and one assist. Goalkeeper Ellie Herrera faced zero shots on goal.
McPherson improves to 6-3-0 on the season. They have a quick turnaround, as they’ll host Circle on Thursday, April 23, and Bishop Miege on Friday, April 24.
GIRLS SWIMMING
The Bullpup Girls Swimming team placed 4th in the Buhler Invitational on Tuesday. Adyson Wiens earned another State Consideration time, finishing 4th in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:09.77.
McPherson’s lone event win was in the 100 Butterfly by Ella Schrag (1:10.11). Wiens placed 2nd in the 100 Freestyle (58.96). Zoe Busenitz was the runner-up at the 500 Freestyle (6:58.47), with teammate Kennedy Hacker placing right behind her in 3rd. (7:29.26).
McPherson will have a quick turnaround, as they’ll head to Salina South High School on Friday, April 24.
BOYS TENNIS
The Bullpup Boys Tennis team also played in the Buhler Invitational, finishing in 2nd place behind Valley Center.
Cooper Bohme had a strong day, finishing 2nd in the Singles Tournament. Mason Eisenbarth placed 10th. In Doubles, Jonas Emery / Rylan Unruh finished 3rd, and Hayden Siemens / Jack Boese finished 9th.
McPherson will participate in another invitational on Thursday, April 23, as they will head to Maize.
