McPherson Hosts Doug Gayer Boys Tennis Classic, Red Places 2nd

McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School Boys Tennis hosted the 2026 Doug Gayer Classic on Saturday, April 18. The Bullpup Red team placed 2nd in the classic.

11 teams competed at McPherson High School, as the Singles tournament drew 22 competitors and the Doubles featured 19 teams. McPherson’s Red team placed just three points behind Independence for the top spot. The McPherson White team placed 8th.

Rylan Unruh led the McPherson Singles competitors with a 5th-place finish. Cooper Bohm placed 7th. Collin Tully and Bradom Holm placed 21st and 22nd, respectively.

The Doubles tournament was led by Mason Eisenbarth & Jonas Emery’s 3rd place finish, while Hayden Siemens & Parker Riemann placed 7th. Aaron Winter & Jack Boese finished 8th, and Holtyn Hamblin & Jacob Achilles finished 14th.
