The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic and Buhler track teams participated in the Smoky Valley Invitational Friday at Lindsborg.
The Trinity boys won the team title with 98 points, edging out second-place Smoky Valley by 8 points. Buhler placed sixth with 47 points.
The Trinity boys wrapped up the title by winning the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3 minutes, 32.31 seconds, clipping Scott Community, which placed second with a time of 3:32.39. Buhler placed seventh in the race (3:53.87).
The Buhler girls placed ninth with 25 points and the Trinity girls placed 11th with 18 points. Ellsworth won the girls team title with 71.5 points, edging out Smoky Valley (68.5) and Southeast of Saline (67).
Hutchinson Trinity’s Isaac Hammersmith won the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 4 inches. He also placed first in the triple jump (43-5.25) and was third in the long jump (20-1.5).
Hutchinson Trinity’s Jacob Lindstrom placed first in the 1-mile run (4:43.07) and 3200 (10:13.06). John Lindstrom placed sixth in the 1-mile (4:52.5) and Noah Lau was sixth in the 3200 (11:07.68).
The Trinity boys 4×400 relay team placed first (3:21.31), the 4×100 relay was second (45.76) and the 4×800 relay was second (8:41.1).
Trinity’s Alex Guajardo and Roberto Guerrero placed second and fifth in the boys 400 with times of 53.68 and 53.89 seconds. Guajardo also placed fifth in the 200 (23.39).
Cameron Kiser and Dylan Bornholdt placed second and seventh in the 800 (2:08.03 and 2:12.83).
Ian Rios placed seventh in the 300 hurdles (44.6) and eighth in the 110 hurdles (17.26). Ambrose Pennycuff and Adahir Guerrero placed eighth and 11th in the 300 hurdles (44.68 and 45.49).
Trinity’s Porter Metternich was seventh in the men’s discus (125-8), eighth in the 200 (24.12) and 10th in the 100 (11.75). Roberto Guerrero was 10th in the 200 (24.22). Owen Hammersmith was 11th in the 100 (11.76).
Eilley Cost led the Trinity girls with a first-place finish in the girls discus (114-2) and added a third-place showing in the shot put (32-5.5). Azlyn Cost placed eighth in the shot put (30-9.5) and ninth in the discus (90-10).
Kara Nelson placed ninth in the girls pole vault (7-3), Emma Martin was ninth in the 3200 (14:18.05). Alex Suter-Tan was ninth in the 200 (28.22) and 10th in the 100 (13.33).
For the Buhler boys, Carson Roberts and Myjian Lee-McGlynn placed second and third in the boys javelin (148-3 and 147-6). Lee-McGlynn placed second in the shot put (44-2).
Kodie Applegate and Cody Jones placed third and seventh in pole vault (12-3 and 11-9). Bishop Holmes and Owen Kneisel placed third and fourth in the high jump (both 5-6). Kneisel also placed fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.21) and sixth in the 300 hurdles (44.21)
The Buhler boys placed fifth in the 4×800 relay (9:12.48), sixth in the 4×100 relay (48.47) and sixth in the 4×400 relay (3:53.87).
Dontrell Willard-Trass, Bishop Holmes and Carthrae Courson placed seventh, eighth and 10th in the triple jump (38-1.5, 37-6.5 and 36-8.5).
Christian Valle, Joel Penrose and Samuel Hougham placed 7-10-11 in the 3200 (11:08.98, 11:38.29 and 1:44.34). Valle and Hougham were 10-15 in the 1-mile (5:10.18 and 5:26.73. Eli White placed eighth in the 800 (2:13.92).
Leading the Buhler girls was Khloe Blackwell and Sabella Regier, who placed second and fourth in the pole vault (9-3 and 8-9).
The Buhler girls 4×100 relay placed fourth (52.52).
Bayleigh Miller, who placed fourth in the girls 100 hurdles (17.66). Calyra Heinlein placed ninth (18.43). Aaliyah Leving, Miller and Heinlein placed 5-7-11 in the 300 hurdles (52.04, 52.65 and 54.71).
Addysyn Keller placed sixth in the long jump (15-5.5) and Aiden Howard was sixth in the shot put (31-4).
