The Hutchinson High girls swim team finished in fifth place Tuesday at Campus.
The Salthawks scored 200 points in the 14-team event.
AJ Gooch led the Salthawks with a strong showing in two individual events, and also as a part of two relays. Gooch won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2 minutes 12.27 seconds. Gooch was one of two swimmers to finish in under 2:33.
Gooch also finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.25) and was one of two competitors to go under 1:19.
Gooch anchored the 200-freestyle relay to fourth place (1:56.54). Emma Buller, Julianna Stivers and Morgan Most also swam on that team.
Gooch also anchored the 400-freestyle relay to fifth place (4:19.14). Buller, Stivers and Most swam on that team as well.
Some of the girls swam different events than normal but we placed very well as a team,” Hutchinson coach Brad Johnson said.
