City, County, School Meeting Agendas for Monday

County agendas

Personnel items across multiple departments are on Monday’s McPherson County Commission agenda at 9 at the Public Works office building. Commissioners will also consider approval of repair costs on a backhoe and hear public works project updates during the meeting, after which a work session is planned with Public Works and the Planning, Zoning and Environmental Departments.

Marion County Commissioners Monday afternoon will be hearing a quarterly update from Park and Lake Superintendent Isaac Hett, which will also include an executive session to discuss potential litigation. Litigation, active and potential, will also be discuss behind closed doors with County Counselor Brad Jantz. Commissioner will also make a Board of Zoning Appeals appointment during their 12:30 meeting at the Courthouse in Marion.

School Board Agendas

An update on bond project planning and design and discussion on issuance of bonds voters approved in March will take place at Monday evening’s McPherson USD 418 Board of Education meeting at 6 at the Central Office. The board will consider matters related to the transition from four to three elementary schools, a proposed calendar for next school year, curriculum recommendations and hear a presentation on Professional Learning Communities. Other agenda items include a review of the Board’s Social Contract, and update on cell phone policies, an early graduation request, McPherson Education Foundation grants, and executive sessions to discuss personnel and the superintendent search.

The Canton-Galva USD 419 Board of Education Monday evening at 6:30 at the district office in Canton will consider a naming rights proposal, a mechanical services agreement, and a memorandum of understanding with Prairie View. Other items on the agenda in addition to reports and updates include capital project and policy reviews, personnel items including teacher contracts, and an executive session on an attorney/client privilege matter with possible action from that.

Bids on bond projects will be considered by the Hillsboro USD 410 Board of Education Monday evening at 5:30 at the district office. Other agenda items include a revision to non-resident student capacity, laptop replacements for Elementary School staff and a Parents as Teachers Educator, and several personnel matters, and authorization for a payment on a a greenhouse structure that may happen prior to the board’s May meeting.

City Agendas

Salina City Commissioners Monday afternoon at 4 in Room 107 of the City-County Building will start their meeting with four hearings on proposed naming of city facilities. The commission will consider bids for mill and inlay projects, adding lots left off on a special improvement district area, a contract amendment for the West Magnolia Road reconstruction, art and design projects for Fire Station 4, contracts for time and attendance software and equipment, and setting hearings for 2026 special assessment projects.

A week of the Young Child Proclamation will be presented at Monday evening’s Moundridge City Council meeting at 5:45 at the City Office, The Council will consider a support letter on behalf of Cradles to Crayons, hear a Greer sewer update, discuss chill trailers, and consider repeal of a backflow cross connection device ordinance. They will also consider a resolution to sell city-owned property and accept a utility easement from USD 423 and Associated Ministries of Moundridge.
