Wichita, Kan. – McPherson opened the week on the road against the Falcons of Friends University. The Bulldogs were in search of their seventh consecutive win, while the Falcons sought to make it five straight.

How it Happened
McPherson opened the match in strong fashion, grabbing the first point behind doubles victories from Laureen Van Drunen and Vanessa Hofer at #2, along with Eva Lesteluhu and Maria Luisa de Lama at the #3 spot.

Hofer extended the Bulldogs’ lead to 2-0 after winning the opening set 6-3 and jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the second before her opponent was forced to retire due to injury.

Taimi Nashiku added to the momentum with a straight-set 6-3, 6-3 win at the #2 singles, while Bella Ellerbee delivered a dominant showing at the #3 spot, dropping just one game.

The Bulldogs capped off the day by sweeping the remaining singles matches. Van Drunen and de Lama cruised to convincing wins, while Lesteluhu battled through a tougher matchup, earning a 6-4, 6-3 victory to seal McPherson’s 7-0 sweep.
