Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School’s Tyler Casebolt captured first-medalist honors at the Salina Sacred Heart Invitational Tuesday at the par-70 Salina Municipal Golf Course.
It was the second straight second-place team finish in two days for the Celtics and the second straight first-place medalist showing for Casebolt.
Sacred Heart won the team title with a 312 score, followed by Trinity 326, Hill City 340, Russell 365, Ellinwood 367, Larned 375, Southeast of Saline 378, Ellsworth 389, Hillsboro 400, Clay Center 433 and Ell-Saline 448.
The Sacred Heart JV team did not have enough players to record a team score.
Casebolt, who won the Nickerson Invitational Monday with a 78, fired a 5-over-par 75 to tie Sacred Heart’s Will Tuttle for top score in regulation. Casebolt defeated Tuttle in a playoff to win the title.
Larned’s Gavin Collins placed third with a 76. Trinity’s Miles Blaylock and Sacred Heart’s Jake Koksal placed fourth and fifth with 77s.
Trinity’s Matt Armour and Ian Shaw placed 16th and 17th with 87s. Teammates Seamus Hogan and Augustine Bell placed 24th and 25th with 93s.
