Hutchinson Trinity’s Tyler Casebolt Tops Field at Nickerson Invitational Golf Tournament

Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School’s Tyler Casebolt captured first-place medalist honors with a 6-over-par 78 at the Nickerson Invitational Monday at the par-72 Crazy Horse Golf Club in Hutchinson.

Casebolt edged out Hoisington’s Mason Martin by two strokes to win the tournament title.

Hutchinson Central Christian’s Tyler Reed claimed the third-place medal. Reed defeated Buhler’s Ben Gazaway in a playoff after both fired 83s in regulation.

Hoisington edged out Hutchinson Trinity by two strokes (346-348) to win the team title in the 13-team field.

The Buhler junior varsity team placed third at 364, followed by Ellinwood 368, Pratt 382, Kingman 402, Lyons 403, Pretty Prairie 421, Wichita Warriors 423 and Nickerson 443.

The Buhler B team, Inman and Hutchinson Central Christian did not have enough players to post team scores.

Pratt’s Quinton Humble placed fifth in the individual competition with an 84. Ellinwood’s Luke Heinz and Wichita Warriors’ Leo Maxwell placed sixth and seventh with 85s.

Reed’s Central Christian teammate Cael Kooiman placed eighth with an 86, followed by Hutchinson Trinity’s Matt Armour in ninth place with an 87.

Hoisington golfers Kobe Crawford (88), Logan Cossel (89) and Bryson Kinman (89 placed 10-12-13 with Pratt’s Beau Ferrell placing 11th (88).

Hutchinson Trinity’s Ian Shaw placed 14th (90), Dean Nelson 21st (93), Miles Blaylock 24th (96) and Seamus Hogan 35th (100).

Buhler’s Carter Harris and Race Lusk placed 17th and 19th with 91s, followed by Brennan Geilenfeldt 29th (89), Talan Martin 32nd (99), Landon Spence 39th (101) and Landon Wood 40th (101).

Sterling’s top golfers at the Nickerson meet was Cameron Morris, who placed 23rd (96) and Lane Weigel 25th (97). Wyatt Newberry placed 33rd (99) and Ian Dillard 47th (108).

Lyons’ Noah Greeves placed 18th (91), Elijah Lyon 41st (101), Derek Valerio 45th (105), Easton Benavides 46th (106), Alex Landeros 49th (110) and Jon Steele 63rd (128).

Dawson Dick led Pretty Prairie with a 31st-place finish (99), followed by Eli Anderson 38th (100), Weston Lanning 50th (111), Eli Young 52nd (111) and Collin Weide 56th (121).

Nickerson’s top golfers were Jacob Myers and Lane Hoskinson, who placed 34th and 36th with 100s. Gage Hopkinson placed 57th (121), Kyler Nikkel 59th (122), Brayden Mathis 60th (123) and Shamus Nugent 62nd (126).

Inman’s Braden Stutzman placed 55th (119).
