Kansas guard Elmarko Jackson is set to enter the transfer portal, he tells 247Sports. Jackson is departing KU after three seasons with the program. As a redshirt sophomore this past year, Jackson averaged 4.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He’ll have two seasons of eligibility left at his next school.

Jackson was a reserve guard for KU during the 2025-26 season. It was his first season off the back of a torn Patellar Tendon that he suffered in the summer of 2024 that forced him to miss the following season. Jackson played 17.8 minutes per game off the bench. The guard had some big moments throughout the season, scoring 17 points against Tennessee in the Players Era and scoring 19 points at Kansas State. But, Jackson struggled to be consistent.

He scored in double figures five times during the campaign. He finished the year averaging 4.8 points on 38.1% shooting from the field (37.2% from 3) with 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assist in 17.8 minutes per game.

Coming out of high school, the 6-foot-3 guard was a four-star recruit. He was the No. 20-ranked recruit nationally in the 2023 class and was a McDonald’s All American. He picked KU over 27 other offers, including finalists Texas and Miami.

As a freshman, Jackson started 17 games on a KU team that wen 23-11 and lost to Gonzaga in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He began the year as a starter but after 15 games he moved to the bench and started just two more games for the rest of the campaign.

Jackson averaged 4.3 points on 40.6% shooting from the field with 1.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in 18.6 minutes.

After the season, Bill Self tabbed Jackson as someone to watch heading into his sophomore year, but the torn Patellar Tendon he suffered in a summer scrimmage meant he had to spend the season on the sidelines. Jackson returned to full practice last summer.
