Salthawk Baseball Drops Pair at Andover Central

The Hutchinson High baseball team suffered a pair of losses Tuesday at Andover Central, falling to the Jaguars 3-2 and 5-2.

The Salthawk pitching had its best day of the young season, allowing just eight runs. By comparison, in the Salthawks two other doubleheaders, they allowed 17 runs to Great Bend and 19 runs against Blue Valley West.

Payne Young and Brodie McCuan drove in runs for Hutch in the opener. Juju Lyons pitched five solid innings but took the loss.

The losses dropped Hutch to 0-6 while Central improved to 3-1. Hutch next plays Thursday at Andover.
