AUGUSTA, Kan. – McPherson High School Softball swept the Augusta Orioles on the road on Thursday, March 26, starting league play 2-0 after winning 8-0 and 26-10.

Terrific pitching performances by Carmin Pavlovich led the Bullpups. She started game one, throwing all seven innings, allowing just three hits while striking out 12. She also closed out game two, throwing the final 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts.
McPherson used a four-inning first inning, plus two insurance runs in the 5th and 6th respectively, to give them the game one victory, 8-0. The Bullpups had nine hits and drew nine walks. Pera Bauer, Brooke Doile, and Annalis Gross each had two hits.
Game two had an offensive duel, with McPherson defeating Augusta 26-10. The Bullpups had 22 hits, scoring in all but the first inning. Rylie Whitfield went 5-6 with 5 RBI. Gross went 3-4 with a triple and a home run, also adding 5 RBI.
McPherson improves to 2-2 on the season, 2-0 in AVCTL-3 play. They will host Winfield in their home opener on Monday, March 30.
