The Buhler High School varsity baseball team swept a doubleheader Thursday at Winfield, defeating the Vikings 11-4 in Game 1 and 16-0 (5 innings) in Game 2.
The Buhler varsity softball team also swept a doubleheader from Winfield. The Crusaders won Game 1 15-3 and Game 2 14-8.
Also on Thursday:
• The Inman High School softball team defeated Hillsboro 13-0 (6 innings Game 1) and 17-1 (5 innings Game 2) at Hillsboro to win its first two games of the 2026 season.
• The Halstead varsity baseball team defeated Sedgwick 14-11. Chandler Henkelman won his first game as a high school head baseball coach.
• The Halstead High School junior varsity baseball team defeated Sedgwick 9-1 at Halstead.
• The Smoky Valley High School softball team swept Ell-Saline 20-5 (3 innings) in Game 1 and 14-10 (7 innings) in Game .
• The Andale/Garden Plain baseball team defeated Sedgwick 14-11.
• The Kingman/Norwich baseball team defeated Southeast of Saline 9-8.
• The Kingman/Norwich softball team swept Wellington 22-17 (Game 1) and 22-2 (5 innings, Game 2).
• The McPherson softball team swept Augusta 8-0 (Game 1) and 26-10 (Game 2).
• The McPherson baseball team split a doubleheader against Augusta, winning the opener 9-0 and losing Game 2 13-7.
• The Derby softball team swept Newton 15-14 (Game 1) and 11-1 (5 innings in Game 2).
