Sterling finishes fourth at Oakwood Intercollegiate

ENID, Okla. — Sterling College concluded the Oakwood Intercollegiate with a fourth-place finish as a team with Zach Surface leading the Warriors with a four over par score to tie for 11th.

The Warriors played three rounds of golf through Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24 on the Oakwood Country Club course. The course has a yardage of 6,694 and a par of 71 with the average score of the tournament being 76.18.

Zach Surface finished tied for 11th with a final score of +4. Surface showed consistency, posting a score of +2 in both the first and third rounds, while managing an even par in the second round.

Tobias Tajet secured a tie for 20th place with a +7 final score. Tajet’s performance improved significantly in the final round, where he shot a -1, following rounds of +5 and +3.

Sondre Storli Jensen ended the tournament in a tie for 25th place with a final score of +9. Jensen started strong with rounds of +2 and +1 but faced challenges in the last round, carding a +6.

Anders Hermansen concluded the event tied for 38th with a score of +12. Hermansen recovered from a +6 first round to post a +1 in the second round, finishing with a +5 in the third.

Andres Thomas Castelblanco Salamanca rounded out the event for the Warriors finishing tied for 42nd with a score of +14. He had a rough start to the tournament, shooting +10 in the first round but recovered in rounds two and three shooting +1 and +3, respectively.

Up next, Sterling will travel to Manhattan, Kan. to compete in the Midwest Spring National Invite on Monday and Tuesday, April 6-7 hosted at the Colbert Hills Country Club.
