McPherson Faces Tough Opponents in Kentucky Road Trip

Georgetown, Kentucky – The Bulldogs faced two highly respected opponents in the Bluegrass State over their spring break. After starting their trip with a close 4-3 loss to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, McPherson looked to wrap up their non-conference matches with momentum heading into KCAC play.

Thursday, March 19th vs Georgetown College: MC 2, GC 5
Despite a win in the #1 Doubles match with Arthur Nardy and Hamish Wyatt, the Tigers secured the doubles matches with a win on courts #2 and #3 for the 1-0 advantage over McPherson.

Nardy would find his second win of the day in a close 2-1 match that was decided in a 10-point third set tiebreaker. Nardy would go on to win the third set in dominant fashion 10-0 over Schirmer.

McPherson’s second point in this match would come from Bruno Barrientos in the #5 Singles match. In the end, the Tigers rolled to a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs.

Friday, March 20th vs No. 6 Lindsey Wilson College: MC 0, LWC 7
Lindsey Wilson displayed every bit of dominance on Friday with a 7-0 victory over the Bulldogs. Barrientos and Nardy both forced extra action in their first set in the singles matches, but both fell 7-5 to their opponents.

Each court in the doubles matches ended in 6-2 in favor of the hosts. The Bulldogs were unable to pick up a set in singles play, leading to an eventual 7-0 defeat in their last non-conference matchup of the regular season.
