The Centralia Panther girls dominated the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs 76-16 in the third-place game Saturday afternoon in the Kansas Class 1A Division I state tournament girls third-place game Saturday at Dodge City’s United Wireless Arena.
Centralia finished the season with a 24-3 record and Pretty Prairie posted a 23-5 mark.
The Panthers led the Bulldogs 25-4 in the first quarter, 50-6 at halftime and 67-7 after three quarters. Both teams scored 9 points in the fourth quarter.
Kayleigh Vogl and Brennan Schrag led the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs with 5 points apiece. Ava White scored 4 points and Amity White added 2. Vogl grabbed 6 rebounds and Ava White 4 pulled down 4 boards. Vogl blocked 3 shots.
Four Panthers scored in double figures, led by Tava Gibbs with 16 points. Josie Haverkamp scored 15 points, Hayden Kramer 14 and Malayna Becker 12. Kellyn Rempe chipped in with 9 points.
Haverkamp grabbed 13 rebounds and Gibbs 10. Kramer had 9 assists and 4 steals. Becker had 7 steals, Cora Thompson 5 and Gibbs 4. Centralia had 29 steals, 45 rebounds, 17 assists, 4 blocked shots and 40 forced turnovers.
