The Hutchinson High girls basketball team had a sterling effort on Wednesday in the Class 5A West Substate semifinals, but fell to Andover Central 35-31 in Andover.
The Salthawks allowed just 13 first-half points and took a 15-13 lead at halftime. But the Jaguars doubled their point total in the third quarter and took a 26-23 lead after three quarters.
Ava Krone led Hutchinson with 12 points, and Danai Morgan added 11.
