The Fairfield High School boys basketball team advanced in Kansas Class 1A Division I Madison regional play with a a 42-41 victory over Pretty Prairie Monday night at the Fairfield gymnasium in Langdon.
The Fairfield Falcons improved to 11-11. The Pretty Prairie Bulldogs finished the season with a 9-12 record.
Fairfield will play No. 1 seed Pleasanton at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasanton. Pleasanton received a first-round bye.
In another first-round game Monday night, Crest defeated South Haven 58-29. Crest (18-5) will play Norwich (19-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Norwich.
The Pleasanton-Fairfield winner plays the Crest-Norwich winners in the regional championship March 6 at Madison.
