Danai Morgan scored a game-high 22 points, and Tenley Keeton scored 21, all in the second half, and the Hutchinson High girls rolled to a big victory, 70-38, over Newton on Friday.
Keeton sank six 3-pointers in the second half. Lynnea Alvarez added 15 points for the Salthawks.
Hutchinson led 25-18 at halftime before dominating the second half by outscoring Newton 45-20.
Hutchinson improved to 12-9 and remained in the mix to host a first-round Class 5A substate game. The Salthawks will host Maize on Tuesday.
