he No. 1-ranked Little River High School varsity boys and girls basketball teams blew past Elyria Chjrsitan Friday night at the Central College of McPherson gymnasium.
The Little River boys are 17-1 after defeating Elyria Christian 57-21. The Little River girls also are 17-1 after defeating Elyria Christian 53-18.
The Little River boys led 14-8 after one quarter, 31-15 at halftime and 49-16 after three quarters. Little River outscored Elyria Christian 8-5 in the fourth quarter.
Lincoln Raleigh led the Redskins with 14 points. Logan Schubert scored 12 and Jaxson Konen 8. Jaren Garrison added 7, Blayne Baldetti 6, Jhet Ewertt 5, Nash Look 2,Ty Janette 2 and Camden Strecker 2.
Konen and Garrison each had 6 rebounds. Baldetti had 4 assists.
The Little River girls shut out Elyria Christian 12-0 in the first quarter, led at halftime 27-4 and 45-11 after three quarters. The Redskins outscored Elyria 8-7 in the fourth quarter.
Arika Feldman led Little River with 17 points. Avery Lafferty added 9, Evie Look 6, Havana Olander 5, Dempsey Lafferty 4, Adelynne Strecker 4, Lucy Wright 4, Saelyn Raleigh 2 and Macy Schubert 2.
Avery Lafferty grabbed 8 rebounds. Adelynne Strecker had 4 assists and 4 steals.
Joy Pyle led the Elyria Christian girls with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Olivia Peters scored 6 points, dished off 4 assists and had 5 steals.
The Little River boys and girls host Inman on Tuesday and play at Olpe on Friday. Elyria Christian hosts Halstead next Friday.
