The Nickerson High School basketball teams fell to Hoisington Friday night at the Nickerson gymnasium.
The Hoisington girls (11-6) won 56-24 and the Cardinal boys won 55-35.
The Hoisington girls led 26-16 at halftime and 44-21 after three quarters. The Cardinal girls outscored the Panthers 12-3 in the fourth quarter.
Hoisington’s Marley Bittel fired in seven 3-pointers and scored 25 points. Addison Hanzlick scored 9 points and Laeya Beck 8.
Centhiyan Bankston scored led Nickerson (0-21) with 7 points. Ayanna Cornejo and Shalie Powell each scored 6.
The Nickerson boys (4-17) trailed 10-4 after the first quarter, 24-14 at halftime and 39-24 after three quarters. Hoisington (11-8) outscored Nickerson 16-11 in the fourth quarter.
Hoisington’s Mason Martin (11), Brody Pfannenstiel (10) and Kobe Crawford (10) combined for 31 of Hoisington’s 56 points.
Riley Brawner led Nickerson with 11 points. Rylan Morrell added 8.
The Nickerson JV boys lost to Hoisington 64-44 and the Nickerson C team boys lost 63-41.
The Nickerson JV boys compete Saturday at the Hillsboro JV Tournament.
Nickerson hosts Hesston on Tuesday and plays at Hillsboro next Friday.
