Hutchinson Central Christian Girls Ranked No. 1 in 1A Division II, Little River Teams Top 1A Division I

The Hutchinson Central Christian girls are ranked No. 1 in the Kansas Class 1A Division II in the latest Kansas Basketball Association poll released on Tuesday.

The Cougar girls were ranked No. 3 in the poll released on Jan. 27.

The Little River girls are still ranked No. 1 in Class 1A Division I and the Little River boys are No. 1 in Class 1A Division I boys.

Other area girls ranked the top 10 are Halstead, No. 2 in Class 3A; Southeast of Saline, No. 8 in 3A; Moundridge, No. 4 in 2A; Salina Sacred Heart, No. 5 in 2A; and Pretty Prairie, No. 7 in Class 1A Division I.

Other top-ranked girls teams are Wichita Heights, 6A; Andover, 5A; Wellington, 4A; Silver Lake, 3A; and Eureka, Class 2A.

Other No. 2-ranked girls teams are Olathe South, 6A; St. Thomas Aquinas, 5A; Eudora, 4A; Ellinwood, 2A; Centralia, 1A Division I; and Bucklin, 1A Division II.

Sterling boys, the defending 2A state champions, lead a tough Class 2A field. Berean Academy, Moundirdge, Salina Sacred Heart and Ell-Saline are second, third, fourth and sixth.

Pratt is third in Class 4A boys.

Other first-place boys teams are Shawnee Mission South, 6A; Kapaun Mount-Carmel, 5A; Rock Creek, 4A; Wichita Collegiate, 3A; and Axtell, Class 1A Division II.

Other second-place boys teams are Olathe North, 6A; Maize South, 5A; Atchison, 4A; Hesston, 3A; Olpe, Class 1A Division I; and Hanover, Class 1A Division II.
