Six Bluejay’s finish in Double Figures as Tabor Men’s Basketball takes down Sterling in Overtime

STERLING, Kan. – Another opportunity awaited Tabor College Men’s Basketball on Saturday as the Bluejays made the short trip down the road to take on rival Sterling in KCAC action. The Bluejays posted impressive and inspiring performances earlier in the week against Oklahoma Wesleyan and McPherson and set their sights on repeating that again on Saturday.

  • With the win, the Bluejays improve to 4-17 on the season, and 2-14 in KCAC play
  • Saturday’s contest marks the 138th all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to 1948
  • Tabor currently owns an 83-55 record in the all-time series

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

  • Jackson Baer posted the second highest-scoring performance of his career, leading the team with 22 points in the win
  • Baer was one of six Bluejays to finish in double figures, while Marque Wilkerson (16), Niieihii Blackbear (15), Zach Hiebert (14), Jake Weaver (12), and Khalil Allen (11) rounded out the group
  • Weaver put up yet another impressive defensive performance, hauling in 15 total rebounds (all defensive) and grabbing two steals
  • Hiebert shared the love, dishing out a team-high five assists
  • The Bluejays shot an efficient 53.2% (33-62) from the field, while shooting 35.3% (6-17) from downtown, and 75.8% (25-33) from the free throw line
