The Bethany College Swedes battled through a tough conference matchup Monday night but fell 86–61 to Saint Mary inside Hahn Gymnasium. Despite the final score, Bethany received solid efforts from several players and continued to compete through all 40 minutes against a strong opponent.
Curtis Stovall III led the Swedes offensively with 17 points, connecting on five three-pointers and providing a spark from the perimeter. His shooting helped Bethany stay within reach during key stretches, especially in the first half. Keddric Mays II added 12 points, attacking the basket and battling defensively while logging heavy minutes at guard.
Milton Kpehe was a force on the glass, pulling down eight rebounds to go along with seven points, while also contributing a block and a steal. Jaxon Woods chipped in seven points and four rebounds, providing energy and toughness in the paint. Will Martinez and Berrian Delinois added scoring and defensive pressure as Bethany worked to find rhythm on offense.
The Swedes showed improvement from beyond the arc in the second half and continued to fight despite facing adversity. While the result didn’t go Bethany’s way, the game provided valuable experience as the team continues to develop and push forward in conference play.
