Lyons Girls Nab Second Win of the Season in Beating Trinity Catholic

After trailing at halftime, the Lyons Lions came back to get the win over Trinity Catholic and claim seventh place in the Sterling Invitational Tournament, 50-41.

Trinity held a lead after the first period and had a 20-17 lead at halftime in a back-and-forth game where each team went on mini runs.  Lyons held a two-point advantage, 37-35, heading into the final quarter. Lyons outscored Trinity 13-6 in the final quarter, making 7 of 12 free throws to seal the victory.

Lyons was led in scoring by Keirah Davis with a game-high 16 points. This was a career high for Davis.

Trinity Catholic had three players in double digits with Anika Paulsrud leading the way with 12, followed by both Brecken Dowsey and Cienna Maskil with 10.  That was a career-high for Dowsey. A

Lyons advances their record to 2-12 and will return home on Tuesday for league play against Minneapolis.

Trinity Catholic falls to 0-13 and will host Smoky Valley on Tuesday in a non-league contest.
