The Moundridge High School girls and boys basketball teams both won their games Tuesday at the Hillsboro Trojan Classic at the Tabor College Gymnasium.
The Moundridge girls defeated Hesston 54-36 and the Moundridge boys defeated Clay Center 58-44.
Hattie Hecox and Mackie Conkling each scored 12 points for the Moundridge girls. Jacy Proctor led Hesston with 9 points. Jaden Williams and Tessa Martin each scored 7.
In other first-round girls games Tuesday, Remington defeated Clay Center 42-25, Holcomb defeated Riley County 38-27 and Salina Sacred Heart defeated Hillsboro 48-28.
The Moundridge boys (11-1) were paced by Easton Shahan with 20 points, including two 3-pointers. Heath Churchill fired in 13 points. Fynn Burge and Jesse Lutz each scored 7 points.
Grady Theurer led Clay Center with 16 points. Abram Stratton added 11 points.
In other boys games Tuesday, the Hesston boys defeated Remington 54-29, Holcomb defeated Riley County 44-34 and Salina Sacred Heart defeated Hillsboro 78-44.
Drew Bartell led the Hesston boys with 15 points. Gavin Larson and Ty Unruh each scored 8 points.
Due to possible incoming bad weather, Hillsboro Trojan Classic games will be moved to Thursday and Friday instead of Friday and Saturday.

Thursday games at Tabor College and Hoisington Middle School: Hesston girls vs. Riley County, 3 p.m.; Riley County boys vs. Remington, 4:30 p.m.; Clay Center girls vs. Hillsboro, 6 p.m.; and Hillsboro boys vs. Clay Center, 7:30 p.m.
Friday’s games at Tabor College: 7th place girls game, 3 p.m.; 7th place boys game, 4:30 p.m.; 5th place girls game, 6 p.m.; 5th place boys game, 7:30 p.m.
