The Hutchinson Central Christian girls basketball team defeated Stafford 51-28 Friday night at home and the CCHS Cougar boys beat Stafford 56-44.
In the girls game, Central Christian led 31-10 at halftime. In the boys game, Central Christian led 21-3, but Stafford closed within 36-28 before the Cougars pulled away for the victory.
The Central Christian girls won their eighth straight game and improved to 10-1 overall (2-0 in Heart of the Plains League play). The Cougar boys improved to 6-5. The Stafford girls are 4-7 and the boys are 1-10.
The Cougar boys and girls compete in the Berean Academy Tournament Monday through Saturday.
