WICHITA, Kan. – The Hesston College track team opened the 2026 season at the Friends University First-Chance Qualifier on Saturday (Jan. 10).
In the men’s 3000 meters, freshman Jonah Krumme led the Larks with a seventh-place finish in 9:45.02. Sophomore Ethan Thompson finished 11th in 10:05.95, followed by sophomore Sebastian Pavlovich in 16th (10:50.09) and sophomore Landon Lunsford in 17th (11:11.89).
In the men’s 800 meters, freshman Nathan Lewis recorded an eighth-place finish with a time of 2:12.54. Freshman Ethan Gonzalez also competed in the event, finishing 11th in 2:17.23. Lewis later finished 36th in the men’s mile with a time of 4:51.33, and sophomore Jack Hunter placed 44th in 5:04.92.
Sophomore Dan Guillaume placed eighth in the men’s 1000 meters, crossing the line in 3:03.05.
Junior Nick Win placed 85th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.68 seconds. In the men’s 400 meters, freshman Seth Crouse finished 39th in 57.55 seconds, while Gonzalez placed 43rd with a time of 59.21.
The Larks will be back in action on January 16 at the Rustbuster Invitational in Topeka, Kan. hosted by Washburn University.
