Haven High School senior Avery Brawner reached the 1,000-point milestone in the Wildcat girls’ 82-21 victory over Nickerson Monday night at Haven.
Brawner scored 22 points against Nickerson. Rilynn Patry scored 12 points, Kensie Popp 11 and Hadley Idacavage 9.
Emmaly Martinez was the leading scorer for the Nickerson girls with 7 points.
Haven led at halftime 50-6.
The Haven girls improved to 9-2. The Nickerson girls dropped to 0-10.
The Wildcat varsity girls will host Hillsboro on Tuesday and will play at Andale Friday night.
The Nickerson Panther girls will play at Larned on Tuesday and will host Smoky Valley on Friday.
The Haven junior varsity girls team defeated Nickerson 15-9 in a one-half game.
Haven Wildcat boys win battle against Nickerson
The Haven High School boys basketball team overcame the Nickerson Panthers 57-45 Monday night at Haven.
Haven, which improved to 5-6, led 13-12 in the first quarter and 28-24 at halftime.
Haven was led by Logan Jacques and Cole Brawner with 12 points each. Brogan Wray scored 11 points.
Austin Peterson led the Nickerson boys with 13 points. Cameron Welch contributed 11 points.
The Haven Wildcat varsity boys will host Hillsboro on Tuesday and will play at Andale Friday night.
The Nickerson Panther boys, now 2-8, will play at Larned on Tuesday and will host Smoky Valley on Friday.
