Bethany, Okla. – The Central Christian College of Kansas Women’s Basketball team traveled down to Bethany, Oklahoma to face the Southwestern Christian University Eagles in Sooner Athletic Conference play. Chloe Clevenger returned to the court for the first time in a few weeks due to injury and logged 24 minutes off the bench.
The Tigers came out fierce, shooting 40% in the first half including 58% from beyond the arc. This propelled the Tigers to a 33-31 halftime lead.
At halftime, Southwestern Christian adjusted and locked down the Tigers in the third quarter. They held the Tigers to just 5 points while scoring 19 to take a seven point lead into the fourth quarter.
Despite outscoring the Eagles by five and shooting over 50% from the field, the Tigers were unable to comeback and fell 60-57.
Chloe Clevenger led the Tigers in scoring with 19 and Kylee Jones trailed closely with 18 points. Charmayne Marshall added six points and 11 rebounds on the evening.
The loss moves the Tigers to 5-10, 1-8 SAC on the season. Their next contest is against Oklahoma City University here in McPherson. The game is set to tip at 2pm and will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network.
