Nickerson Teams Fall to Kingman on the Road

The Nickerson High School girls and boys basketball teams dropped a close contests to Kingman Friday night at Kingman.

Kingman won the girls game 41-33 and the boys game 61-50.

The Nickerson Panther girls trailed 10-9 at the end the first quarter and led at halftime 20-18. Kingman took a 35-30 lead at the end of the third quarter.

In the varsity boys game, the Nickerson Panthers trailed the Eagles 17-11 at the end of the first quarter, 29-24 at halftime and 52-33 at the end of the third quarter.

The Panthers closed the gap by outscoring the Eagles 17-8 in the fourth quarter.

Caylor Helm scored 24 points to lead the Kingman girls. Dawson Wood scored 21 points for the Kingman boys.

The Nickerson junior varsity girls defeated Kingman 14-12, the Panther JV boys lost to the Eagles 64-33 and the Nickerson Panther boys C team won 45-41 to earn their first victory of the season.

Nickerson will play Tuesday at Haven and will host Smoky Valley next Friday.
