The Haven High School girls basketball team posted victories over Wichita Collegiate and Pratt to improve their season record to 8-2.
The Wildcats defeated Wichita Collegiate 57-48 Saturday at Newman University’s Fugate Gymnasium and Pratt 51-34 Friday at the Haven gymnasium.
Senior Avery Brawner followed up her 32-point, 12-rebound “double-double” Friday against the Pratt Greenbacks with 23 points and 8 rebounds against the Wichita Collegiate Spartans.
Haven’s Rilynn Patry grabbed 12 rebounds and scored 3 points against Pratt and contributed 8 points and 10 rebounds against Collegiate. Hadley Idacavage scored 13 points against Collegiate.
The Haven girls will host Nickerson on Monday and Hillsboro on Tuesday. The Wildcats will play on the road next Friday at Andale.
Haven Wildcat boys fall to Pratt, rebound against Towanda-Circle
The Haven High School boys basketball team lost to Pratt 64-40 Friday night and defeated Towanda-Circle Saturday 62-52.
Both games were at the Haven High School gymnasium.
Brogan Wray led the Haven boys in scoring in the Pratt game with 15 points. Cole Brawner added 9 points.
In the victory over Towanda-Circle, Wray and Brawner led the Wildcats with 17 points each. Jace Martin scored 10 points.
The Haven boys, who improved their record to 4-6, will host Nickerson on Monday and Hillsboro on Tuesday. The Wildcats will play on the road next Friday at Andale.
