Third Quarter Dooms Hutchinson Boys Against Salina South

The Hutchinson High boys basketball team had a strong first half on Friday at the Salthawk Activity Center, but a rugged third quarter enabled Salina South to storm back and take a 53-48 win.

Hutchinson led 25-18 at halftime, holding the Cougars to just five made field goals. But after hitting eight first-half field goals, the Salthawks made just one in the third quarter and were outscored 18-5.

Lamar Govain led the Salthawks with 13 points, while Larry Jeremiah Jr., added 10 points.

Hutchinson falls to 2-6 while Salina South improves to 8-2. Hutchinson will travel on Tuesday to Valley Center.
