SALINA, Kan. — A bus carrying members of the Wakefield High School basketball teams to games Friday night in Little River was involved in a crash near Salina while en-route.
The crash occurred just after 3:30 p.m. near the I-70/135 interchange where the USD 379 bus was preparing to exit I-70 to go south on I-135.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the bus with 24 passengers began to slow to make the curve when it was rear-ended by a pickup driven by Cody Denio of McPherson.
No injuries were reported in the crash, however the games with Little River were canceled.
