The Moundridge High School boys basketball team, ranked second in Kansas Class 2A, downed Little River 60-35 Tuesday night at Moundridge.
The Little River girls defeated Moundridge 52-40. Both th Moundridge boys and Little River girls are undefeated.
The Moundridge boys led 13-8 after one quarter, 29-16 at halftime and 39-26 after three periods. Moundridge tacked on a 17-9 run in the fourth quarter.
Jesse Lutz led Moundridge (6-0) with 13 points, Kaizer Kanitz and Heath Churchill each scored 12 and Easton Shahan added 11.
Jaxson Konen led the Little River Redskins (3-1) with 8 points. Blayne Baldetti added 7 points and Logan Schubert 6.
The Little River girls (5-0) jumped out to a 16-9 lead in the first quarter, led at halftime 29-23 and 39-30 after three quarters. The Redskins outscored the Wildcats 13-10 in the fourth quarter.
Arika Feldman led Little River with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Avery Laffery added 10 points and Saelyn Raleigh tallied 8.
Cammi Unruh led the Moundridge girls (6-1) with 13 points. Macy Kaminkow and Mackie Conkling each scored 8 and Addy Patrick 6. Kaminkow grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Little River boys and girls will host Wakefield (varsity games only) Friday at the Little River High School gymnasium. The varsity girls game tips off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity boys game.
The Little River Junior High School girls and boys teams will host Solomon at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Little River High School gymnasium.
The Moundridge girls and boys host Sedgwick Friday night.
