Pratt High School senior Arley Morrell, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound tight end, will stay home in Kansas and has signed a letter of intent to play football at Kansas State University.
Morrell originally signed with Colorado State, but coach Jay Norvell was fired.
So Morrell switched his commitment to Iowa State University, but Cyclones’ coach took the head coaching job at Penn State and was released from that commitment.
One day later, Morrell signed with Kansas State, which will be coached by Collin Klein.
Morrell picked Kansas State over offers from Penn State, Auburn and Missouri.
• Great Bend standout junior Cooper Ohnmacht has received an offer from Penn State football, according to Kansas Pregame.
New Nittany Lions’ coach Matt Campbell previously had offered Ohnmacht while he was the head coach at Iowa State.
Onhmacht bench presses more than 300 pounds, can triple jump nearly 50 feet and throws the javelin 180 feet.
He set the GBHS Panther Football vertical jump record at 38.5 inches as a freshman.
Ohnmacht has offers from Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Rice.
• Beloit feature athlete Brody Litton signed with the University of New Mexico Lobos football team earlier this month.
