HutchCC’s Christian Johnson, L.T. Robinson are Part of Louisiana-Monroe Football Recruiting Class

Hutchinson Community College sophomore quarterback Christian Johnson signed a letter of intent to play NCAA Division I football at the University of Louisiana-Monroe on Dec. 3.

Johnson, a 6-foot, 206-pound sophomore from Montgomery, Ala., has played in 22 games for the Blue Dragons in his career (all victories).

The Blue Dragons won the NJCAA Division I title last year and are playing in the national title game against Iowa Western Wednesday in Canyon, Texas.

He has passed for 3,014 yards in his career and 28 touchdowns (2,031 his sophomore year with 21 TDs) and 11 interceptions (5 his sophomore year). Johnson also 890 yards rushing in two seasons with 13 TDs.

Johnson played high school football at Parke Heritage in Montgomery.

Johnson’s HutchCC team teammate L.T. Robinson, a wide receiver from Wichita, also signed with ULM.

In two seasons at HutchCC, Robinson appeared in 21 games and averaging 1.9 receptions per game.

In two seasons, Robinson has 39 receptions for 570 yards and two touchdowns, both coming this season.

ULM has recruited 20 players for the 2026 season and 15 of them are community college players.

In other signing news:

• Lyons High School’s Hendrix Starbuck recently signed a national letter of intent to continue his academic and track and field career at Emporia State University.

Starbuck posted a sixth-place finish in the discus at the 2025 Kansas Class 3A state track meet in May.

Starbuck also played offensive line and linebacker for the Lyons football team.

• Buhler High School senior Nataleigh Sullivant has signed a letter be a member of the Hutchinson Community College cheer squad.

• Douglass High School’s Gentry Bergsten signed a letter of intent to play softball at Lakeland University, an NCAA Division III college in Plymouth, Wis.

The Muskies compete in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).

• Holcomb High School’s Amayah Caro has signed with Garden City Community College to wrestle.

• According to Kansas Pregame’s Facebook page, former Canton-Galva/Wheatland-Grinnell feature athlete Jett Vincent plans to enter the transfer portal following coaching changes at Colorado State University.

A 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker, Vincent has tallied 21 tackles with 3.5 for losses in two seasons.
