Athens, TX – Neosho County Women’s Basketball shook off a slow first quarter and stormed back to earn a gritty 59–50 win over Southern Arkansas University Tech on Day 1 of the Trinity Valley Classic.
The Panthers scored just three points in the opening frame, but once they settled in, it was all #94FeetOfChaos. Neosho exploded for 22 points in the second quarter, flipping the game’s momentum and never looking back.
Sophia Mireles was electric from deep, dropping 15 points on 5–9 shooting, including four big threes that fueled the comeback.
Janae Davis came off the bench firing, adding 13 points and going a perfect 4–4 at the line.
From there, Neosho’s depth took over:
- Laynie Winfrey knocked down three threes of her own, finishing with 9 points and 4 rebounds.
- Dagmara Kacprazak was perfect from the field, adding 6 points and 3 boards.
- Desiree Williams chipped in 5 points and a key assist.
- Divine Brown gave strong minutes inside with 3 points and 3 rebounds.
- Ta’Neah Jones added 2 points, 3 rebounds, and a steal.
- Jaida Harris battled on the glass, grabbing 4 rebounds to go with her 2 points.
- Bauke Graulus hauled in 5 boards, dished 2 assists, and snagged 2 steals.
- Jessica Houston battled inside for 5 rebounds, bringing toughness to the paint
- Chloe Parker, Kaozong Yang, Azura Clark, and Maila Tashiro contributed valuable defensive possessions that helped seal the victory.
With the win, Neosho improves to 6–5 on the season. Panthers will face Division I, Panola College, on Day 2 of the Trinity Valley Classic, Saturday, November 29, at 1:00 PM.
