IOLA, Kan. (Nov. 18, 2025) — Allen Community College today announced its participation in a historic statewide articulation agreement with Emporia State University, making it easier for graduates of Allen and the 18 other Kansas community colleges to seamlessly transfer into designated bachelor’s programs at ESU.

The agreement—signed Nov. 20, 2025—was celebrated at ESU’s Memorial Union Skyline Room and marked the first such partnership between any Kansas Community College and a Regent institution. Key attendees included Kansas House Majority Leader Chris Croft and Deputy Secretary of Commerce Mike Beene, who highlighted cybersecurity trends and workforce development.

“This partnership opens a clear, supported pathway for our students to advance in high-demand fields,” said ACC President Lyvier Leffler. “This agreement reaffirms the choice to attend Allen Community College for our transfer students, who will save money in their pursuit of bachelor’s degrees with confidence.”

The collaboration aligns with KACCT’s mission to build a strong Kansas workforce through affordable, accessible postsecondary education. More than 100,000 students attend Kansas community colleges annually, and this agreement expands those opportunities.

Allen students who complete an associate degree within approved programs will benefit from guaranteed admission and transferable credits to ESU.

Allen Community College provides quality educational and support services in an atmosphere that is caring, safe, and conducive to learning.
