McPHERSON, Kan. – The AVCTL Division III All-League Honors from the 2025 season were released on Monday, Nov. 17, seeing 15 McPherson High School players earn a total of 18 spots. Four of those spots were on the First Team, six on the Second Team, and eight on the Honorable Mentions list.
Ashton Malm was named on the First Team as a wide receiver as well as on Special Teams. Malm finished his junior campaign with 1,134 receiving yards, becoming just the 5th receiver in program history with over 1,000 receiving yards in a season and the 4th most in a season. His 58 catches are the 6th most in a season, and 13 touchdowns are the third most in a season, both in program history. He also had duties as a kick returner and a punt returner, highlighted by a 97-yard kick return TD against Winfield, the longest kickoff return in school history.
Jaxon Hoover was named First Team All-League Kicker following his sophomore year. Hoover converted on 25/33 PAT attempts and made 2/6 field goals, his longest being from 36 yards. Two of his four misses were blocked kicks. Hoover also showed his power as the kickoff specialist, kicking 15 touchbacks on the season.
Dylan Hall was named a First Team Offensive Lineman, helping lead the Bullpups to one of their best offensive performances in recent history. The Bullpup offense averaged 377 total yards per game, 166 of which on the run.
The offensive combo of QB Carter Bengtson and RB Dane Becker, both juniors, earned them Second Team All-League honors. Bengtson threw for 1,900 yards, scoring 17 touchdowns and throwing only four interceptions. Becker averaged 81 rushing yards per game, racking up at least 100+ in three of the first four games. Krayton Byrd earned Second Team honors as well, becoming the second offensive lineman on the list.
Defensively, Dylan Hall, Bo Barkley, and Takoda Linn each earned Second Team honors. Hall led the team with 65 total tackles. Barkley had the most tackles-for-loss on the team with eight, plus a team-high four QB sacks. Linn was a key pass disruptor in the secondary, intercepting a pass while also finishing with 35 tackles.
Two other offensive linemen, McKoy Berggren and Braxton Burgess, were named Honorable Mentions, giving four McPherson linemen All-League honors. Sophomore tailback Brody Milleson was named an Honorable Mention following a strong season, including a 200-yard game against Circle, the first by a Bullpup since 2018.
Defensive linemen Carter Leathers and Jayren Stutzman were named Honorable Mentions, with each player contributing two TFLs and a sack. Nolan Pearcy was named an Honorable Mention LB, finishing with three TFLs, an interception, and a fumble recovery. Keaton Crane rounded out the list for McPherson, earning Honorable Mention honors as a defensive back.
The Bullpups finished with a 5-4 overall record in 2025, falling to Augusta in the first round of playoffs. The 2025 class had just 12 seniors, the fewest in the Jace Pavlovich era. Only four out of the 15 players on the All-League list for McPherson were seniors, including only one in the First and Second Teams combined.
