HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Each month Ad Astra Radio will be recognizing a girls and boys Team of the Month, selected from area high schools. The October Boys Team of the Month goes to the Central Christian Football team!
The month: The Cougars had a dominant month, winning five games by a combined score of 244-6, en route to an Eight-man Division 2 District 5 championship. Central Christian won four of those games by the 45-point mercy rule. The Cougars are now 10-0 headed into Friday’s sectional championship game. The Cougars have had a dynamic offense, led by senior Piercen Huff’s 1,257 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns, and by junior Luke Eigsti’s 749 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. The Cougars are coached by Matt Barnett.
