HALSTEAD, Kan. — Each month Ad Astra Radio will be recognizing a girls and boys Team of the Month, selected from area high schools. The October Girls Team of the Month goes to the McPherson Girls Golf team!
The month: The Bullpups capped off an impressive season by making history. In just the fourth year of the program, McPherson won the AVCTL Division 3/4 tournament, and the Bullpups also claimed their first Class 4A regional championship. McPherson took that momentum into the 4A state tournament on Oct. 20-21 at Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson, where McPherson placed third. Brodie Kuhn led the Bullpups at state with a two-round score of 161, finishing third. Andi Buschbom also finished in the top 20, placing 17th with a 172. McPherson is coached by Treg Fawl.
