Central Christian got off to a fast start as Piercen Huff took the opening kickoff 73 yards for a touchdown, and after the PAT by Cael Kooiman, the Cougars led 8-0 just 11 seconds into the game, and the Cougars would go on to beat Logan/Palco 56-0 on Friday in Hutchinson.
Central Christian scored halfway through the first quarter when Luke Eigsti connected with Calvin Barnett on a 40-yard pass to go up 16-0. The first quarter ended with Central Christian leading 32-0, after touchdowns by Piercen Huff on a 53-yard run and a 40-yard interception return by Luke Eigsti.
In the second quarter, the Cougars added three more scores. on a Konnor Sullivan 9-yard sweep, a second TD pass from Eigsti to Barnett covering 32 yards, and the final score on a third TD for Huff on a 34-yard run. The game was called at halftime due to the 45-point mercy rule.
Central Christian ended the game with 278 total yards of offense as they rushed for 161 yards on 16 carries. Eigsti completed five passes for 117 yards and threw two touchdowns. Eigsti also had two interceptions for the Cougars on defense. Piercen Huff rushed for 96 yards on 5 carries and had 3 touchdowns. Calvin Barnett was the leading receiver with 2 receptions for 72 yards, both for touchdowns. Piercen Huff also caught 3 passes for 45 yards.
Logan/Palco was limited to 72 total yards of offense.
Central Christian improved their record to 10-0 and will move forward to the sectional round next Friday night against Victoria. That game will be played in Hutchinson. Logan/Palco finishes their season at 7-3.
