
The Little River Redskins defeated Lyndon 52-20 in an Eight-Man I East regional contest Friday night at Lyndon.
Little River will host Sylvan-Lucas in the 1A quarterfinals next Friday night at Little River. Sylvan-Lucas defeated Rosalia-Flinthills 62-14 in the regional round.
The other East quarterfinal features Ell-Saline (9-1) vs. Lincoln (9-1) next Friday at Brookville.
The West quarterfinals feature South Central (9-0) against Leoti-Wichita County (8-2) at Coldwater and Hill City (9-1) vs. Wakeeney-Trego (10-0) at Hill City.
Little River outscored Lyndon 30-12 in the first quarter. That was the halftime score.
Both teams scored a touchdown and a 2-point conversion in the third quarter to make the score 38-20. Little River scored the game’s final 14 points.
Jaxson Konen scored four touchdwons on runs of 2, 51, 4 and 8 yards. Also scoring on TD runs for the Redskins were Jaren Garrison (2 yards) and Jhet Ewertt (7 yards).
Ty Janette caught a 13-yard YD pass from Konen and ran for two 2-point conversions. Logan Schubert and Konen each had one.
Little River ran for 340 yards and passed for 40. Lyndon ran for 195 yards and passed for 104.
Konen rushed for 193 yards on 20 carries and passed for 24 yards. Garrison ran for 76 yards and passed for 16. Schubert rushed for 38 yards and Ewertt 33.
Schubert caught 2 passes for 27 yards and Janette added 1 catch for 13 yards.
Ewertt led the Little River defense with 11 tackles, Garrison added 10, Kelby Rice 9 and Schubert 7.
Lyndon quarterback Lucas Griffin scored on TD runs of 2 and 63 yards and added a 2-point conversion. He passed for 104 yards and ran for 122.
James Marcotte rushed for 34 yards, including a 1-yard TD, and caught 2 passes for 46 yards. Josh Vignery caught 2 passes for 18 yards.
Dimitri Zapata and Koby Isch each had 6 tackles to lead Lyndon. Griffin added 5.
