Wehrli Earns KJCCC Setter of The Week Honors

Chanute, KS – Another week and another accolade earned by a Neosho County Community College athlete. Continuing a stellar year for Panther Athletics Sarah Wehrli earns Setter of the Week Honors for KJCCC D2 Volleyball. Her performance along with her teammates earned the Panthers home court advantage in the first match of the upcoming Plains District tournament. See the full story from the Conference offices below.

COLBY, Kan. – The final Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Volleyball Player of the Week awards for the 2025 season feature a pair of first-time honorees as Kansas City Kansas Community College players Valentina Rolando and Ava Rann, along with Neosho County’s Sarah Wehrli are your week 11 winners.

Valentina Rolando (KCKCC) – KJCCC D2 Volleyball Player of the Week
Valentina Rolando delivered a dominant performance in KCKCC’s 3-0 sweep over Highland Community College to clinch a share of the KJCCC D2 Volleyball regular season title. The freshman averaged 7.0 kills per set, finishing with 21 kills on a .415 hitting percentage, while also adding 12 digs and a .929 reception rate. The co-regular season title was the first for the Blue Devils since 2000.

Sarah Wehrli (Neosho County) – KJCCC D2 Volleyball Setter of the Week
Neosho County setter Sarah Wehrli led the number 14-ranked Panthers to a pair of wins last week, including a 5-set road win at Metropolitan Community College before finishing the regular season with a 3-0 win over Independence to secure a home match in the upcoming NJCAA D2 Plains District A Volleyball Tournament. The sophomore recorded 56 assists in the win over Metropolitan and averaged 11.38 assists per set while adding 14 digs, three service aces, and one block throughout the week.

Ava Rann (KCKCC) – KJCCC D2 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Ava Rann played a key role in KCKCC’s sweep over Highland that secured the Blue Devils’ first KJCCC volleyball regular season title since 2000. The sophomore anchored the Blue Devil defense with 19 digs and a .962 reception percentage as KCKCC allowed Highland to record only two service aces and a .093 attack percentage in the match.
