Strong First Half not enough as Bluejays Football falls to Evangel on Senior Day

HILLSBORO, Kan. – If anyone had a doubt about whether or not the 2025 season would see any “football” weather, that doubt was put to rest on Saturday afternoon as Tabor Football hosted Evangel in a chilly contest for Senior Day.

  • With the loss, the Bluejays fall to 3-6 overall, and 1-2 in Kessinger Division action
  • Saturday’s contest marks the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs
  • Evangel now holds a 4-0 lead in the series

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

  • Ahmad Bailey threw for 214 yards, connecting on 19 of 30 passing attempts, resulting in two touchdowns
  • A.J. King was Bailey’s prime target, recording 53 total receiving yards
  • Devin Jones and Holden Kee each caught a pass in the endzone
  • Dusty Daigle had a monster day, recording 17 total tackles
  • Brandon King made a nice return to action with eight tackles of his own
  • Brodrick Smith punted for 219 total yards on six punts with an average punt of 36.5 yards and a longest punt of 45 yards while hitting within inside the 20-yard line twice, and recording two touchbacks
  • King had a monster 31-yard punt return, as well as two kickoff returns for a total of 20 yards
