Little River volleyball team ‘Four-Peats’ as Class 1A DII state champs

The Little River High School volleyball team “Four-Peated” as Kansas Class 1A Division I state champions Saturday morning at Dodge City’s United Wireless Arena.
The Redskins, who added the 2025 state title to their state titles in 2022, 2023 and 2024 championships, capped off a 44-2 campaign by defeating Centralia 25-12, 25-17.
The Redskins, coached by Kim Rolfs, continued one of the most dominant runs in Kansas volleyball history and Kansas Class 1A Division I.
Little River seniors have a career record of 162 wins, 14 losses (79-0 against Class 1A schools). Their state title wins came against Centralia in 2024, Montezuma-South Gray in 2023 and Flinthills in 2022.
In the Class 1A Division I third-place match, Montezuma-South Gray defeated Quinter 25-6, 25-16.
In the semifinals, Little River defeated Quinter 25-6, 25-16 and Centralia defeated Montezuma-South Gray 25-14, 25-22.
Ellinwood completes 47-0 run with 2A state volleyball title

The Ellinwood Eagles volleyball team completed their dream season by winning the Kansas Class 2A state volleyball championship Saturday afternoon at Dodge City’s United Wireless Arena.
Ellinwood finished the season with a 47-0 record.
Ellinwood defeated Blue Rapids-Valley Heights in the championship match 25-16, 25-23.
Hillsboro defeated Winchester-Jefferson County North in the third-place match 25-16, 25-14.
In the semifinals, Ellinwood defeated Jefferson County North 25-10, 25-14 and Valley Heights defeated Hillsboro 25-21, 25-18.
Hanover repeats as Class 1A DII state champions

Hanover repeated as the Kansas Class 1A Division II state volleyball tournament champions.
Hanover defeated Linn 25-16, 25-14 in the 1A DII state championship Saturday morning at Emporia’s White Auditorium.
In the third-place match, Ingalls defeated Axtell 25-18, 25-22.
In the semifinals, Hanover defeated Ingalls 25-6, 25-14 and Linn defeated Axtell 25-13, 25-19.
Three of the Class 1A DII Final Four teams compete in the Twin Valley League — Hanover, Linn and Axtell.
St. Thomas Aquinas Saints are 5A state volleyball champions

St. Thomas Aquinas captured the Kansas Class 5A state volleyball tournament championship Saturday morning at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.
The Aquinas Saints defeated Blue Valley Southwest 25-22, 25-19.
In the third-place match, Maize South defeated Lansing 27-25, 28-26.
In the semifinals, St. Thomas Aquinas defeated Maize South 25-17, 25-23 and Blue Valley Southwest defeated Lansing 25-21, 25-13.
Blue Valley West wins battle of KC area teams at 6A volleyball tourney

The Kansas Class 6A state volleyball tournament featured an all-Kansas City area Final Four Saturday afternoon at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.
Blue Valley West won the 6A state volleyball championship match against Olathe West 25-20, 25-12.
In the semifinals, Olathe West defeated Olathe Northwest 25-13, 27-25 and Blue Valley West defeated Shawnee Mill Valley 25-21, 25-15.
