LINDSBORG, Kan. — The goal has been met for the commitment of tax credits for the Raise the Roof project at the Lindsborg Old Mill Museum and Swedish Heritage Complex. Marketing and Communications director Adam Pracht announced Friday afternoon they have commitments for all of the $166,000 in historic preservation tax Credits from the Kansas Department of Commerce, leading to just over $240,500 in donations.
The Museum had to raise or have commitments for the $166,000 in credits awarded by Friday or risk losing what had not been committed.
Initially, donations raised were used to repair the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair Swedish Pavilion, which was leaning about two degrees. That work has been completed, and up next is replacement of the Pavilion roof, which they have now raised about half of the funds needed.
With that, there is a potential the museum could receive a reallocation of credits from other projects that did not use their full allocation. More details on that will be forthcoming, along with other fundraising projects.
