Andale Dominates Trinity Academy with Explosive Offense to Stay Undefeated

 WICHITA, Kan. — 19 seconds. 

That’s how long Andale trailed for the first time all season Friday night at Trinity Academy. The Indians had a quick response with a 70-yard touchdown run by Jack Horsch that gave Andale the lead it didn’t relinquish in a 68-20 victory over the Knights. 

Sam Harp set the tone, scoring three consecutive touchdowns of 8, 67 and 1, giving Andale a 30-7 lead with 7:52 to go. Trinity Academy scored its first points with 3:19 left in the half with a 29-yard field goal before Andale scored 16 straight with Harp finding Hunter Grimes with a 9-yard touchdown reception and a 30-yard interception return by Sam Kuepker. Trinity Academy got a 44-yard field goal with three seconds left in the half to trail 46-13. 

Andale got a 39-yard punt return from Harp with 9:30 left in the third quarter, which triggered a running clock the remainder of the game. Harp connected with Grimes a second time, this time from 27 yards with 4 minutes to play in the third. Trinity scored with 9:30 remaining for its final score and Andale’s Brayden Spexarth scored a 3-yard touchdown run with 2:30 remaining. 

Harp accounted for six touchdowns, finishing with 127 yards rushing on six carries and three touchdowns, along with 4-for-6 passing for 77 yards and two scores and the 39-yard punt return.

Andale (7-0, 3-0 3A District 6) will host Hesston next Friday night for Homecoming with the Class 3A District 6 championship on the line.
