Isaiah Doherty placed first in the varsity boys 5K race Thursday at the Wedgewood Golf Course in Halstead with a time of 17 minutes, 4.41 seconds.
Doherty led the Haven boys to a third-place team finish at the CKL meet.
Pratt won the varsity boys team title with 32 points, followed by Smoky Valley 82, Haven 97, Hesston 111, Nickerson 115, Halstead 132, Larned 145 and Hillsboro 163.
Hesston won the CKL girls championship with 25 points, followed by Smoky Valley 59, Pratt 71, Hillsboro 78 and Halstead 110.
Nickerson’s Aiden Brinkley placed eighth with a time of 18:39.37. Teammate Andy Huggard finished 16th in 19:49.37, Halstead’s Johnathon Haspels 17th in 20:04.8, Haven’s Jayden Idacavage was 19th in 20:17.13 and Halstead’s Eli Wilcox was 20th in 20:28.73.
Also competing for Haven were Cameron Behnk, 21st, 20:28.7; Aiden Rich-Adkins, 20:38.21; Lane Hoskinson, 32nd, 20:48.04; Jordan Kaufman, 37th, 21:19.76.
Other Halstead competitors were Russell Schroeder, 29th, 20:41.62; Gavin Healey, 33rd. 21:06.62; Austin Schroeder, 39th, 21:29.82; Dylan Jahnke, 45th, 22:21.3; and Donovan Healey, 51st, 23:49.99.
Also running for Nickerson were Luke Shelton, 24th, 20:31.82; Dale Landry Smith, 30th, 20:45.7; Renner Hawks, 43rd, 21:59.25; Hayden Nelson, 44th, 22:02.16; and Carson Ward, 49th, 23:19.27.
Hesston’s Reese Quinn won the CKL varsity girls 5K championship with a time of 19:53.71.
Area runners placing in the top 20 were Haven’s Berenika Coufalova, seventh, 21:20.4; and Halstead’s Addison Wills, 19th, 22:56.9.
Also running for Halstead were Briley Allmon, 23rd, 23:35.16; Charli Harrington, 30th, 25:44.67; Auddie Mabry, 34th, 26:41.05; Mackenzie Ervin, 35th, 26:47; and Maddi Rump, 42nd, 32:47.19.
Other Haven runners were Amelia Scott, 28th, 25:23.81; and Abby Thalmann, 32nd, 25:57.18.
Competing for Nickerson were Jaycie Ohnmacht, 26th, 24:54.91; Amelia Peil, 27th, 25:18.75; and Bella Brinkley, 29th, 25:39.77.
Halstead, Haven and Nickerson will compete at the Kansas Class 3A regional Oct. 25 at Wichita Trinity Academy
